NATALIE BASSINGTHWAIGHTE:

Congratulations Natalie on your huge international success with The Rogue Traders. Natalie was one of the faces of “Ink-up for Kids”, a national fundraising initiative promoted through Village and Reading Cinemas. She also took the time to specially welcome ten special needs children backstage after the Rogue Traders Melbourne concert.

John Blackman
JOHN BLACKMAN:

John has been a great supporter of the 4WD Bash in voicing and producing all the Community Services Announcements.

Mike Brady
MIKE BRADY:

Mike has continued his commitment to the Vic Bash as a fundraising participant and a performer at the final night concert, with his team taking the prestigious award of Overall Winners, the highest accolade on the Bash. Once again we thank Mike for his performance at the Great Grand Final Luncheon and warmly congratulate him on his appointment as a Variety Life Member.

LISA EDWARDS:

Lisa’s first year as a Variety Ambassador has seen her generously donate her time to perform at many functions and large events and to join the Ladies of Variety fundraising group. 

Derryn Hinch
DERRYN HINCH:

Derryn continues to be a strong advocate of the Variety 3AW Radiothon. Without his support Variety would not be able achieve the level of fundraising success each year that provides hundreds of bikes to disadvantaged children for Christmas. 

John-Michael Howson
JOHN-MICHAEL HOWSON OAM:

John-Michael was an integral part of the selection team for the Entertainers of the Century, announced at a glittering gala event at Waterfront City in April. A big thank you for the special evening he organised for Variety at “Dusty the Musical” via his role as the show’s writer and producer.  John - Michael was awarded an OAM in 2009.

Merv Hughes
MERV HUGHES:

Variety would like to congratulate Merv on his appointment as a selector for the Australian Cricket Team and his appearance on Network 9 “Celebrity Overhaul”. Merv continues to be a great supporter of the Vic Bash and new initiatives including the Dust Club.

Tamsyn Lewis
TAMSYN LEWIS:

Between her fantastic win in the 4x100 Relay in the Commonwealth Games, her on-air commitment’s with Channel 7’s “Dancing with the Stars”, Tamsyn has found the time to come and visit the office to sign a selection of Commonwealth Games relay battons to auction at fundraising events.

KEITH POTGER:

Keith is a valuable supporter of the Suits Club and has represented Variety at many functions over the past year when his entertainment commitments allow. 2006 also saw Keith, along with the other members of the Seekers awarded the “Keys to the City” at a ceremony at Melbourne Town Hall in September.

ANNABELLE PRIFTIS:

Annabelle has attended events as a Young Variety Ambassador and is fantastic with the special needs children who attend these events.

SUE STANLEY:

Sue is an active supporter of the Suits Club, participated in the Official Start of the Vic Bash, and joined the Ladies of Variety fundraising group. She contributes her time to Variety events and was a willing participant in the Biba Hair Academy fundraiser which donated all proceeds to Variety.

Tonia continues her commitment to Variety through her presence at functions and events and is a member of the Ladies of Variety team.

BEVERLEY O'CONNOR:

We would like to take this opportunity to welcome newest Celebrity Ambassador, Beverley O’Connor who was appointed in September. Beverley is a journalist, media personality and Vice-President of the Melbourne Football Club. She has already demonstrated a firm commitment to Variety, hosting a Friends of Variety function, co-presenting the Heart of Football Award at the Great Grand Final Luncheon and took on the role of MC at the Cup Eve Ball.

 
MIKE LARKAN:

Variety CEO Norm Hutton presented Channel Ten weather man Mike Larkan with his Celebrity Ambassador pin and certificate on Thursday 28th February at Waterfront city. Mike has supported Variety for many years and we welcome the opportunity to acknowledged his support.

Whatever the weather, Mike is out and about presenting his unique style of live crosses from Melbourne landmarks and events. He produces and writes aswell as presents the segments.

Retiring from the AFL in 2004 with 162 games in 10 years for Hawthorn and Carlton, Daniel has become a respected commentator on sport and made a smooth transition into all forms of the media.

 

WENDY STAPLETON:

Wendy Stapleton is a long standing Australian performer respected for her work in the theatre, television and the music industry.

 

DARYL COTTON: 

Darryl Cotton has long been recognized as one of Australia's most popular and successful entertainers, with a career of more than 30 years in the entertainment industry.

 

 KELLY LANDRY:

From her beginnings as a successful international fashion model Kelly’s star has continued to rise as a TV personality, firstly with Channel Seven and now as a presenter on Channel Nine’s Getaway.

 

JOHN BURGESS: 

John Burgess has a colourful career in television and radio working on TV classics The Wheel of Fortune for twelve successful years and the Ernie Sigley Show.

 

DAVID HUSSEY: 

Australian cricketer David Hussey. Hussey's international representative career continued with selection for the ODI tour of the West Indies in the Australian off-season of 2008. 

 

JACK LEVI:

Jack Levi and his alter ego, Elliot Goblet, has been a long time supporter of Variety the children's charity and is a familiar face at amny of our functions and appeals.

      

BLAIR MCDONOUGH:

Blair McDonough is an actor who is best known for playing the role of Stuart Parker in the Australian TV soap opera Neighbours. He first shot to fame in 2001, when he finished runner-up in the inaugural season of the reality TV series Big Brother Australia. He has since appeared on a number of other reality TV shows.

 Marina Prior is Australia’s Leading Lady of Musical Theatre and has played lead roles in productions such as Les Miserables, The Phantom of the Opera, Camelot, Cats, West Side Story amongst many others. Marina Prior unashamedly seeks to push the boundaries of musical art and stage acting by challenging herself in her roles and musicality. Prior has received numerous awards; these include two Mo Awards (1991, 1995) two Green Room Awards (1989 and 1990) and in 1993 the Advance Australia Award for her contribution to the performing arts.
