Crown Palladium
The Heart of Variety Ball 2010 was a fabulous success. Celebrating the history
of Variety and presenting the Heart of Show Business Award, the night saw a
stellar line up of performers including Elijah Madden, Darryl Cotton, Wendy
Stapleton and the String Divas.
A feature of the evening was the presentation of four scholarships to secondary
students from the Black Saturday Bushfire areas in memory of our former Patron,
Brian Naylor and his wife Moiree. The night also saw a number of awards presented
to well deserving individuals within the Tent 77 family, including Pam Shepheard
as our newest International Presidential Citation recipient and former Chief Barker
and International Ambassador Doug Christie as a Life Member of our Tent.
The Heart of Showbusiness Award was presented to Mr Squiggle.
Our pledge raised $30,000, an inspiring outcome which has enabled Variety
to fund the training of a second "Righteous Pup", (similar to a Seeing Eye dog)
with special skills to assist children with autism.
It is simply wonderful to see the benefits these animals provide.
