Variety@Work

Variety at Work is a program aimed at giving disabled and disadvantaged children the opportunity to experience an activity or outing that they may not otherwise have the chance to experience.

Variety at Work offers many different events through out the year some of those events include.

Children's Christmas Party

Teddy Bears Picnic: The cuddly Teddy Bear’s Picnic is held in the beautiful gardens of Ripponlea Estate. Families are invited to pack the picnic basket and come and play for the day. Carnival rides and face painting are some of the activities that take place in the grounds. A great day for the little ones! (February)

Moomba Masters: Together with the Victorian Water Ski Association we have a fun filled weekend. On the banks of the Yarra watching the many talented water skiers and finishing the experience with a fantastic fireworks display. (March)

Sailing at Sandringham: A small group of children from one school/organisation are taught how to sail in a day! Professional teachers undertake a short lesson on land before the children put what they have learnt on land into practice on the water. Whilst they are there the children undertake a tour of the club and top off the day with a ride in a powered boat. (March)

Circus Oz: A night under the big top is dedicated exclusively to Variety. 1000 children and their carers enjoy the experience of Circus Oz. (June)

Carn the Kids: Variety together with Lease Plan and The Western Bulldogs invite 1000 children to watch an AFL match. The children have allocated seats where they can watch and admire the super stars of the game from. (July TBC)

Winter Wonderland: Come and Join in the fun of Christmas in July. Put your skates on and glide around the skating rink, try your aim at snowball throwing or catch a ride on a dodgem car. These are some of the many carnival activities to do and see on the night with a festive flavor thrown in. (July)

Other activities throughout the year may include enjoying a ballet performance, humming along with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra or Climbing cliffs on a camp.
